Thigh high boots help!

I have bought some gorgeous thigh high faux suede boots and they tie at the top and although I think I have average sized legs, they don't seem to stay up even if I tie them very tight!

Do any of you gorgeous ladies now how to make them stay put?

You can wear them with thick socks that match the colour of them? Roll them over the top and it will bulk 'em out and help secure them.
