Where the streets have no name

It's the ghostly figure stood on a hilltop staring out to sea... forever waiting for their lost love to return

It's the unbreakable bond

I genuinely don't know. Despite being with someone for 22 years I never felt there was 'real' love

Maybe it means knowing that the other person will never deliberately hurt you.

Not entirely sure I know the answer

How do you know when you are in love?

i think that's part of it, yes. they would be truly sorry if they realised that. they would humiliate themselves with an apology because the bond they feel for you means something and they don't want to break that or want to repair it.

maybe go off how you've loved other people to give you an idea of what it is? also, there's different ways of showing love and ways of feeling loved. so just because someone doesn't make you feel loved it might not be true that they never loved you. if they abuse you they probably do not.

--------------------------

i don't think romantic love is unconditional OP. not sure what it is myself either, i know i can feel it for people and i want to tell them i love them. i want to feel close to them physically, mentally, and sexually. but i am somewhat fucked up so idk.

i've only ever felt once i would die for someone i loved, and that feeling went before we split up after he did things that made me feel not loved.

Where the streets have no name

Someone wrote years ago, that romantic love needs 3 fundamental aspects:

-Reciprocity of sensual passion

-Reciprocity of affection

-Compatibility of situations and individual aspirations

I would add, compatibility of personality traits, mutual confidence, flexibility and commitment.

Too many factors to keep the fire burning under the storms of Life...
