Did you do the whole 'retune from the beginning' process or just the 'add new channels' option?

I tried new channels and got 28 new ones - but not BBC1 or 2. Others may have been missing too.

Then I did the retune from scratch routine and got everything back I'd had before + loads of stuff that was new to me - even the BBC Gaelic telly channel.

This was on Freeview.

Go to the digitaluk website where they give lots of info and help on the switchover which hasn't just started in Scotland it's been ongoing for a few years now and your area is the last area of Scotland to be switched from analogue to digital tv.

A full retune of digi-boxes usually brings back any channels that have been lost at any stage of the switchover.

don't be so tight! Go buy a new digi box if you cant retune it. I am begining to think all those stereotypes about jocks being tight are true!

My folks have no TV now.

Cable hasn't reached where they live yet! I suspect that'll be that.

Some of the radio channels have gone to accommodate BBC Alba. This is part of the reason it's taken so long to get the Gaelic stuff onto Freeview.

if they are of a "certain" age.... they may qualify for a freeview box for free.... worth checking..
