Many of the ones they interviewed do not want it." much more context on it that that shags... the government said that local councils this year were allowed after a long freeze to raise council tax by 2% they then said they were allowed to raise increases on council tax from 2% to 5% if that 3% specifically went on social care (of which central govt have been taking more and more money away...) they then said if a council wanted to raise it by more than that, then it would have to go to a local referendum... surrey county council are saying the government had cut its annual grant by £170m since 2010 the interesting thing here... surrey county council in conservative run.... and the tory mps in the county are split for/against the increase...... | |||

That is right and it was for social care, many did say no when they interviewed them, it would cost them £200 more a year. | |||
