I hadn't thought of that. If you take out the bit about it being on paper then typing is still producing print-like characters by pressing mechanical/electronic keys. Unless you're using a touch screen.

But did you look at the YouTube clip?

My first typewriter was my Granddads big old green upright manual. I kept it for years. When I left it at my parents' place my Mum got rid of it. Twenty odd years later we're scouring the internet trying to find one to buy.

use to have a typewriter in the sixties with a red and black ribbon when the keys all stuck together it stopped everything, and weighed a lot too I always remember the ribbons comeing out quite a messy affair the smaller typewriters from the 70,s were better to look at thou never used one of them.
