And how many people have..

1) Been cat fished?

2) Got to the date, saw it was a cat fish and thought fuck it I'm here now, they don't look too bad?? And finally

3) Saw pics of a guys junk and were disappointed to find that his cock was no where near the size of the pics he sent you?

I thought being catfished was when the person used completely different photos of someone else entirely, not just ones of themselves taken 10 years earlier?

"What does cat fish mean? "

A cat fish is someone pretending to be someone they're not on social media/online, usually with regard to dating

Yes it's happened to me. Early early days on fab. Dude looked like 30's in his pic. Great chemistry through texts. Nice in person but 20 years older. So yes for me that is being catfished.

"A “catfish” is someone who pretends to be someone else online. This person completely assumes a fake identity and goes the extra mile to make their victim believe that they are exactly who they say they are"

Watched some of the shows on MTV and have often wondered how someone can "date" someone and say they are madly in love with them for years in some instances but have never spoken on the phone or skyped with them let alone met them to verify who that person is....and then they are surprised when its someone totally different to who they portrayed themselves to be

Mind you having said that...I'm actually a 57 year old welder called Barry!!!

Yesss it is a catfish and yesss it's happened to me on another site but this woman used a completely different picture to what she looked like. Weirdest thing is I still went through with it because she happened to be hotter than the picture she had on her profile. Love to get back in touch with you if your lurking on fab

Only people with no real verification process get cat fished. I would always get 'real time' pics of someone before a meet, so I know I'm meeting the person in the pics. I tend to do this via Snapchat or WhatsApp and hasn't failed me yet.

It's very rare that someone would be able to physically meet if in a wheel chair so how would that work?

I normally ask for a body/naked/dick pic once I've decided someone is worth meeting anyway, plus I think a few of the people who tend to get 'cat fished' are just desperate to meet someone or lack a bit of common sense.

No, it's being misled but not catfished according to the standard being someone else definition.

1) No

2) No

3) No

Obvioysly but they probably won't be meeting me as I'm not looking for that particularly.

I've been catfished recently. The pics of the lad he was hot, he messaged me and we were chatting for a couple of days. When I suggested swapping numbers he had deleted the profile account. But before he did that for some strange reason I thought I'd do a reverse image search well the image came back and it was of a british porn star/escort/stripper

I don't get why people have to lie and deceive people

No sherlock because nobody gives a bad verification or if they do people won't display it. I have seen superlative reviews for women on here seem them in a club and I was dissapointed. Anything online is deceptive, people on represent themselves in the best possible way.

Er, Sherlock, if you read that again I wasn't referring to Fabswingers veris, but your OWN verification process. Common sense, for one.

Ah but the number swapping suggestion caught him out...they always fall when you ask for a bit of further info. Plenty of ways of checking people out nowadays, with a tiny bit of info.

It's common sense FFS. I get them to take pics that are instant and unique to the convo. If people don't want to I won't meet them. Simple as.

I do t think a few years makes a difference, however, going purely on photos is kinda setting yourself up, im lacking veri apart from one almost a year ago from a club owner, but whilst they hold some benefits, I wouldn't travel a distance to meet somebody I had never seen at a club or on cam first..nor expect them to do it for me..but i dont think it's catfished..deceived yeah..but lacking the severity in my opinion

I can get why people decide to catfish others. We live in a society where the way you look is pretty much everything. If you don't dress a certain way, if your not skinny, if your fat etc depending on the type of person you are knock backs like that can really affect you

What's the point in catfish, the rejection over appearance is more likley to happen after the deception and the rapport is already built so it will hurt more. Somebody who doesn't find you attractive and refuses to chat to you as a result, isn't somebody you want to chat too anyway..

Though that may be true, is that a good enough reason to deceive someone especially if you know you are not what that someone is looking for?

Dont think it's Cat fishing to use old pics. If the pics were not of the person then yes.

Deceit about age, such as changing it or a new profile to get around filters is just dishonesty and not catfishing. I've not had the latter but had the former.
