In any circumstance, can you cut all ties with someone and have no contact or do you find it hard to cuts ties?

Was chatting with a friend about it and said I can be quite cold about that kinda thing and it's a defence mechanism for me personally. If I feel I'm getting too close and too familiar with someone, I pull right back and find it hard to do the small talk thing.

How do others find it?

If I had/have feelings for the person, I find really difficult to cut ties on my own, except if that person clearly states that I should fuck off, then I am happy to do so

I've never found it that difficult to cut ties with people who I don't want to talk to anymore, whether they are family, friends, or on here. There's usually a reason I would take such a big step and once I have its simple to follow-though.

But then, I've been told I'm a cold person, too.

No not at all. I don't have any issues with cutting all ties with someone.

It doesn't make you insensitive. Just someone who doesn't wobdecon what could have been and someone who looks to the future

Xx

I'm very cool. I never chase. Lose interest quickly and can ignore someone pretty easily and cut them dead.

You'd be suprised how many men like it .

I find it really hard as I'm not a confrontational person, very easy going. However, lately I've been sticking up for myself a bit more and surrounding myself with people who really care about me and ignoring anybody who upsets me or uses me.

I find it quite easy tbh,cut n old friend off for her gossiping and lies last year.

If I can't trust someone,no point in any form of relationship or friendship.

If i found out someone had lied here ,they would be blocked too.

Miss

Cutting ties is a necessary evil.

If you need to, you must.

Usually a last resort, but make sure that's what you want, as sometimes reestablishing them can prove difficult.

I find it very easy to cut ties with people that have harmed or upset me. I don't need people like that in my life.

Glad it's not just me..

Was beginning to think I'd turned into a heartless cow.

I used to be so soft and give people chance after chance or make excuses for their actions etc.

Now I'm just like "Nope" and they're gone.

I'm sure sometimes it's the wrong decision but I'd rather do it that way then risk getting hurt or made a fool of.

Silly me!

I saw the thread title, and thought it was about those nice-looking jumpers you see in the shops...only to find that they have those silly holes on the shoulders...'cold shoulder' style

But really, what is the point of them??

This is totally me now. I have a fight or flight and I'm mostly flight these days. Had my fill of fighting over the years and had enough of it.

They're absolutely pointless. I bought a top that had the shoulder holes and it's weird because I feel more exposed in that top than if I was wearing a low cut top??

Especially at this time of year...who wants jumpers with big holes in them??

It totally depends on what they did to of upset you, my sister spat in my face and I haven't spoke to her since happened in September last year

...Up on the Downs

I've never seen the need to 'cut ties' that I recall, except for couple of stalkery types I had to block.

My ex of 20 years wanted to be friends 'cos he missed me'....that one made me laugh is all
