Be careful with the coil. I had it once and had no problems whatsoever. The second times I had nothing but problems and bled heavily very frequently and had to have it removed

i didn't have any problem with the 'strings' if that's what you're asking, and the ex at that time was vwe.

never used condoms with it though, not sure if they'd tear?

I wasn't sure if being too rough would move the coil at all...

you do need to keep checking to make sure it hasn't fallen out. after your period usually.

i don't remember mine moving, pretty sure he said he couldn't feel it either. it's above your cervix, inside your womb. it doesn't actually hurt having it taken out so you probably wouldn't notice if somehow it did come out.

maybe just do the checks more regular than once a month to be sure and give yourself confidence? after each session?

I had a Mirena coil fitted early last year and have had no problems with it. It doesn't move and can't be felt during sex. No damage to condoms.

I check mine is still where its meant to be at least once a week while I'm in the bath, I just put a finger or two up and have a feel for the strings.

It did take a long while for everything to settle down fully - about 6-7 months. I didn't bleed much when it was inserted but when I got my first period after I bled heavily for a couple of weeks. Then I was spotting in between periods for a couple of months.

Now my periods are much lighter than they have ever been and usually only last 3-4 days. For some women their periods stop altogether.

When you have it fitted I recommend taking painkillers beforehand. It is uncomfortable and afterwards you get what feels like bad period pains which lasted 2-3 hours for me.

I have had mine in several years and never had a problem. I must admit that I never check my strings but that's because I have little hands and my fingers aren't long enough.

I must get Adam to check.

Can't feel anything painful when having sex or using toys etc.

I used to have the mirena, my ex could feel the strings and it did stop my periods for a few years but then I had constant heavy bleeding and had to have it removed. Had to go to gynae for it removing as my gp couldn't find the strings, nearly ended up with surgery to remove it. Never again.

I would be careful. My mum had the coil and got a rare infection that made her extremely poorly and in hospital for weeks . I took mine out straight out after that. She was lucky. X

As before you'll get differing opinions so I recommend having a look on nhs for statistics on issues with the coil.

Ive had no problem with either of mine and if strings are too long you can get them cut a bit shorter.

As for movement etc the statistics are low for that but possible all the same. The chance of it happening due to being a bit sexually rough is extremely unlikely and you would no doubt feel it happen!

I agree. There will always be people who have bad experiences and those who have good. Nobody else's experience will be the same as yours.

I had a mirena for years and it suited me very well but not everyone has the same experience.

Like I said before I had issues and had it taken out about 5-6 months after but different things affect different people. Try it as you can always get it removed if it doesn't agree with you
