Think we should start a name and shame board for all the fakes out there...

Last night i drove 30 miles for a meet to be messaged on arrival that i had not left home..but i was stood outside these houses no. 1 ...2....3a but the meet was at 2a...it didnt exist!!

I ask the question were is 2a and was immediately blocked..

So i then drove 30 mile home...

Who gets a kick out of that ??

It's against the rules to name and shame unfortunately, but yes, these people should be held accountable, though not sure how it would work.

Sorry you've had such a crap experience, maybe aim for a social meet first at a halfway point.

I'm sorry this happened to you. It's a shitty thing for someone to do and go through. But you can't name and shame. Best bet is get in touch with Admin and let them deal with it.

Once you have been on here a while you get a feel for certain people and know when they are bullshitting you. I hope this hasn't ruined your experience of Fab as there are some lovely people on here too.

Have a good day and keep your chin up. Miss C. Xx

Brighton - even Hove!

A pain and a waste of your time. You can report them to admin. Next time, arrange a social meet in a cafe half way so if they don't turn up again you've lost nothing cos you're in a cafe chillin'.

Did you talk on the phone to them beforehand ?

Also , check out an address exists before you set out. Doesn't help as it's too late but always worth doing. Google earth is great for checking sonewhere is real.

Right I'll put the first name on

It freedom man he says he drove 30 of miles to meet me last night then I apparently blocked him yet I can still view his profile so can't have

Considering I wasn't actually your meet can you already see the flaw in naming and shamin?

Unfortunately it happens.

Did you speak to the person on the phone prior to meeting to confirm who it was you were actually meeting.

Not having a go but it's common sense

I hardly ever speak on the phone before a meet. Is that usual behaviour ?

I wouldn't meet without it and that's just for a social. A voice and the way someone talks on the phone can tell you a lot.

I don't either..

Only in exceptional circumstances but never at my insistence

So now you need to put better measures in place to prevent the same from happening again.

Phone call (we don't but a lot do.)

Google addresses.

Don't travel 30miles for a meet and stick local.

I personally will never understand why people travel that far (bar if like us you've moved but have met previously) for new meets seems a crap way to spend your evening if it all goes wrong.

Yes yes they are.

Sounds awful but better to adopt "faker til proven otherwise" really sad but stops an awful lot of frustration.

I meet for a social that is in a convenient location for me unless logistically impossible. I 'chat' via message beforehand & am not spontaneous meet wise.

So far I haven't come across any fakes.

Good suggestions above

You can't name and shame Op. for anything. We just have to suck it up and report I guess.

I've travelled 120 miles before for a new meet, no reason not to. I go on my instincts and it's 99% right.

We don't name and shame here, it's against the rules set out by Admin. It's rubbish that someone has wasted your time and you can report them to Admin. Time to chalk it down to experience, follow some of the advice given and move on.
