How do you handle them best when you adore a person who's reasons are invalid, yet she refuses to discuss it. Do you let it drop so you can stay friends or fuck it and argue just to feel better and lose a good mate

Why would the other persons reasons be invalid?

Surely they have the right to choose whether they want to continue in a relationship

The land of grey peas and bacon

The reasons maybe invalid to you but to her they are valid....I would say give her some time and space to breath

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

The reasons may be perfectly valid to her but you don't understand them. It may not matter how much you argue, if she doesn't want to explain it to you in a way that you will accept or you refuse to accept whatever she says, then you've lost the friendship part.

If remaining friends is going to cause you torment then step away and let things settle before re-establishing the friendship.

I recommend not staying friends. I know it's hard, but most of the time, it's easier to cut ties.

This. I wish I could cut ties entirely, however, unfortunately some of us or forced to interact with ex's

Just write to her explain things. She will have time to read and reread what you say. It is, less emotional. Its her choice to read it, but it's, there if she wants it.

same as you do if you get no reason at all...you spend time by yourself, rebuilding your own life x

Yes, write everything you would like to tell her then you should leave her alone. If she agrees with what you say, she'd get back to you, if not, well at least you told her what you wanted to.

I wouldn't discuss anything with someone who dismisses my reasons as invalid. It seems somewhat controlling

You need to go with your gut on this one. I split from my daughters mum a good while back for what i thought were pretty crappy reasons, valid reasons but fixable reasons too. Turned out it was a guy friend dripping all the right words in her ear making me look a prat, such is life though... if someone doesnt want to be with you ya cant force it

never compromise on something which you believe in for the sake of a friendship..
