I have mentioned it before, I think its a great idea for lads with a "common interest" to socialise. And to be honest a great deal of guys on here (myself included) should get out more.

If there are no sexual intentions its just like any other club. I go out drinking with the lads from my local bike club I I didn't know them at first, when you group together men with similar interest and beer you cant not have a laugh

I think its a lovely idea there a few forumite men that seem to get on particularly well. There's something special about seeing men getting on with other men. Maybe its because they're miserable sods so its refreshing to see them have a laugh

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I've often said those men who are too chicken to go to a club alone should team up. OK, they won't get the reduced admission they're hoping for by going with a woman, but they'll have someone they know there, and someone to chat to when they fail.

True but I think they tend to bond over a common ground like sport, hobbies as opposed to just meeting up for a chat.

Only an observation.

Would be interested to hear why the men who have said 'probably not' don't want to.

I offered a meet up a few months ago to all newbies male and female for a coffee and a veri to get them along the way, but seeing as I am the wrong sex (male) nobody wanted to take me up on the offer.

If I was female I'm sure I would be inundated with people wanting to meet... just goes to show what people are like tbh.

It seems a little weird when people complain that they can't get an initial veri.

But yeah, I expect they would a/ suspect an ulterior motive and b/ rather did at home and moan about it then actually do something about it.

I tried to get in to Chams at Darlaston on Friday night, as a single bloke, and as my first ever visit to any such club. There were no spare tickets for a single guy. So it would be a similar result for two single guys going in together Hoping to pair up with a woman to get a reduced rate entrance fee? Come on! Not fair You would certainly have more chance of getting in as a couple. Someone to chat to when they fail? Also harsh I'm sure the 'regulars' in the club would recognize a 'newbie' and make them feel at home?

Spending time with mates or the company of a lady is nice. Meeting a random guy/group of guys for some organised friendliness, no thanks. I'm probably unsociable full stop as I don't socialise with colleagues either but that's just me.
