Smug couples

Following a post this morning and a comment about Smug couples, I got to thinking...

As part of a couple who met here and both maintain our single profiles, I don't feel that couples are Smug at all.

We really struggle to find and organise meets unless through clubbing to make initial contact.

So not Smug so much as a bit fraustrated!!

Finding 4 way attraction is a mine-field...

Anyway, just my thoughts xx

I think anyone that comments on a couple who met on here and still have single profiles as "smug" is just jealous that they're not in a similar situation to be honest.

Just my opinion though

The majority of couples aren't smug at all, I've met quite a few couples who are great. It's the minority of couples who think their way of swinging is the correct way and the only way.

I hear you!! Times we've been stood in clubs and looked at another couple and one of us likes the look of both of them, and the other of us doesn't (and potentially they us of course!!) is a regular occurrence.

And 'taking one for the team' is an unpleasant experience we did once and will never do again.

No smugness here at all.

I reckon why couples have single profiles is because the woman would have more meets on thier own.

I just use my single one for the forum.

I meant that I don't think people who have both couples and singles profile are automatically smug, there's nothing wrong with it. And the people who say that they are automatically smug are usually just jealous

That's certainly not why we have single profiles, and am not sure I follow the logic of suggesting it would be. We have single profiles to allow us both to occasionally meet others on our own and are both equally entitled to do so - quantity of meets doesn't even come into our thinking - although quality and equality does (along with trust, respect and all the other things that go without saying).

It's those married men, smiling smugly at the single men who can't get a shag, because they don't have a woman to dangle as a carrot.

Isn't it?

Smug isn't the word that tends to come to my mind, and obviously I'm talking about a minority of couples - but there is a certain kind of couples arrogance displayed on here at times.

Same boat as you, we struggle to find another couple where we all get along on here, There will always be 1 out of the 4 that won't be keen on the meet even if it's just a social.

Welcome to the world of couples on fab.

At times it is really hard work on here for couples. We have now taken the final decision to maintain club meets only. They are a lot easier in our _iew to meet other couples.

You see each other face to face. Have the opportunity to chat, get to know each other, and if things go further then great.

I wouldn't say couples are smug at all, some are, but then that's what makes all individuals. Personally we are a very happy, chatty, fun couple, which people will find out when they meet us. Some couples, we find, take this site as the gospel , and won't entertain meeting. Quite shallow people really if you think about it.

Anyway, happy swinging as a couple, and long may it continue for you both xxxxx Suzi

I tried this swinging lark as part of a couple once... there was fuck all to be smug about... you then have two people to please and he was way easier pleased than me!

I think singles who meet and then have the couple profile and need to grandstand it over the forums is all a bit silly more than smug.

It is over the top when they start to have a conversation with each other in threads and they are in the same bed. It's all a bit, look at us.

But singles can be smug, I pride myself on it

It's when they have a three way conversation between their respective singles & couple profile that makes me laugh.

That's certainly not why we have single profiles, and am not sure I follow the logic of suggesting it would be. I think what Shag is eluding to (maybe), is that when it's say the woman playing on the couples profile she will tend to do better on her own single woman's profile.

Maybe- I definitely get plenty of speculative mail to my single profile.

However this post is more about the perception towards couples that they are Smug or elitist.

Certainly there will be some of every type on here, but my experience has been more fraustrating than anything x

I just accept people for who they are and appreciate others doing the same with me, whatever my relationship status. I don't pick up smug as a pervasive feeling here.

I wouldn't say smug, some maybe come across elitist when the ole argument pops up about couples being the only 'true' swingers.

Couples are not so much as "smug"..but they can be difficult.

I love meeting couples (only play with the female..I'm straight).

But I find they analyse/over-analyse every single word you say.

OR...it's blindingly obvious the whole thing is a fantasy in his head and she knows nothing about it.

Or she wants to meet but he doesn't..or whatever.

Couples can be difficult.
