Stretch marks and skin tone.

My sister surprised me the other day by showing me some stretch marks she has on the inside of her thighs (cos she's put on a bit of weight) she's only 22 but she's very pale and blonde (we have different fathers) I've done a full term pregnancy and not got one single stretch mark but my skin is much darker (my fathers Italian)

My question, is it just really white pale people that are more prone to them or are there any dark skin people that have any? Next question, what's the best thing to fade them? My sisters are only faint but if people have tried something that works I can pass it on.

"I dont have any and I am very very white"

After pregnancy or weight gain? What makes some skin get them then and not others? I thought it was down to pale skin being more delicate like it burns in the sun and you can see veins when it's cold, I dunno!

.

I'm not a dark skinned person more a darker skinned person but I have them because of my weight gain that was subsequently lost.

Bio Oil worked wonders and Palmers Cocoa Stretch mark cream also helped. Applying a fairly liberal amount and massaging it in daily and I saw a considerable difference within a month. I still have them slightly but fuck it.

I'm very pale and I've quiet a lot, despite no huge weight gain/loss

Bio oil gets good reviews by most

I have faint stretch marks on the inside of my thighs as well.

I haven't found anything that diminishes their appearance. I was really self-conscious about them when I was younger (I've had them since I was 12) and so my mother bought me all sorts of things to try to lighten them, but nothing ever really worked so I gave up and embraced them.

I tried bio oil and it never made a difference. Maybe it's because mine were faint from the beginning...I dunno.

So how do some people get them and others don't if skin colour has nothing to do with it?

I'm quite dark (for a Caucasian) and have very few.

Must be the elasticity of the skin. In your genes

Lucky. It must be elasticity, I just thought the darker your skin the stronger it was.

I'm soooooo happy with them!! The stitches are driving me crazy as they're so itchy haha but I've been good and not touched them. They're an amazing size and I'm falling more in love every day! I've not needed to take many painkillers either, I've had a couple once a day x

I have a few stretch marks on the inside of my thighs and a couple on my hips, probably caused by my growth spurt during my early teens.

Can't wait to see the pics! They'll go down a tiny tiny bit but that's normal, just be mindful when you're gripping stuff, you don't realise how connected your hands are to your chest muscles and it can cause discomfort.

They say you get them more if you lose weight very quickly, i lost half a stone before i got pregnant, i used to put baby oil on my stomach when i was pregnant but my skin was itchy and sore so i stopped using it, after my son was born my stomach looked like a let down balloon and then i lost a lot of weight very quickly, hardly ate anything, i have got terrible stretch marks im dark haired and i have sensitive skin.

l grow fast. l got them when l grew fast in high school. All along my groin and back. Then when i got them around my armpits because l put on muscle fast.

l'm super pale but my sister looks Middle Eastern (darker than you) and she has worse stretch marks than me. lt's a genes and how badly your skin scars (stretch marks are subdermal scarring. l think dark people's scars look worse because they go shiny.

Will post my progress on the Fab update forum soon btw. l've been hectic atm.

I got big stretch marks going from the top of my arms through the shoulder onto my chest. Not sure how I got them but I suppose its due to muscle growth when I first started going to the gym.

I think it has a lot to do you skin elasticity and how quickly you put on and lose weight.

I had two children and had no stretch marks but my 3rd son was 4.6kgs (over 10 lbs) and my bump was all out front and I did get stretch marks with him.

I do not like them but they tell a story and try and embrace them.

S x
