...Up on the Downs

I'd like a thread to share foodie tips - I need to do low carb and I'm a grazer so that's my achilles heel.

Good one I got from Dukan is a tablespoonful bran, spoonful 0% fromage frais and one egg - blend with a touch of salt and sweetener if you like and cook like scotch pancakes on a non-stick griddle. Great with a cup of tea!

I added lemon zest and wiped the pan with coconut fat yesterday and oh wow!!

Has anyone found coconut oil as beneficial as they say?

Coconut oil is the bomb and should definitely be used my it retains the nutrients etc even when heated so is still good for you when used in cooking.

I have Greek yoghurt, crushed almonds and raw honey for a snack, almost like cheesecake ha ha.

Or I have two wholemeal crisp breads with avocado, crumbled feta cheese and sliced cherry tomatoes..amazing!

I don't eat crispbreads or honey, but the rest are yum. Feta is a good idea, must get some....

I'm due on soon and with that comes the overwhelming urge for chocolate.

I bought the Heinz baby chocolate biscotti biscuits, I'm having one finger in the night when I'm watching emmerdale. It's my worst time for eating when I'm sat on the sofa watching telly, having one of those baby biscuits is better than me eating lots of chocolate.

Anyone have any clever tricks for carb-free thickening of casseroles??? Some kind of gum or gelatin or something I can use?
