" The Misfit range are mostly waterproof, and there's a Speedo version too All fitness trackers are much of a muchness, and the step count can vary depending on the accelerometers and average stride. The better ones are gps enabled and much more accurate. But the more features the higher the price, and you might as well invest in a proper smart watch | |||

"I have a Tomtom multi sport watch which I prefer over the fitbit as you don't have to take your phone out with you if you want yo track an activity on GPS. Wish I could wear mine at work though. Would love to see how many steps I actually do in a day. " There are a lot of devices which can be removed from the strap and worn on a pendant or clip e.g. waistband. Is that an alternative for you? | |||

That's why it's possible to lose a lot of body weight early in a diet, and much harder to lose it as it turns to muscle, and the body tries to retain body fat as an energy source | |||

And what about kettlebelles...5 sets/5exercises/20reps of each@16kl done in 12mins timed" I only know about the FitBit HR (as i have one) Because it is constantly measuring your heart rate when it elevates due to activity it will automatically count the calories you are burning off if youve programmed into it your height/weight. You basically wear the FitBit and it does everything else. Using the App on your phone you can view all kinds of statistics. If you were to open the Heart Rate section it will tell you your Resting Heart Rate and show you a nice graph what your HR was doing throughout the day and the various zones it went into (Fat burn, Cardio & Peak) | |||

Then looked at activity tracking devices, again not all are waterproof and most are tailored for running - I don't run. I wanted a device that could track my rowing, so it had to be waterproof as we go out in all weather and there us a chance of ending up in the water. Yes there are apps for my phone but taking a phone in a racing rowing boat is more trouble than it is worth. The Vivoactive HR was the only one which fitted my requirements, and justifies it's highish price by acting as a smart watch as well. The heart rate monitor appears to be ok for most things, but as you constantly use the muscles in your wrist when rowing a chest monitor is better. Fortunately any Ant+ chest strap can be paired to the watch and makes it a lot more accurate. All in all I am very happy with mine, it's an easy way to record my and monitor my rowing. (As an added bonus it means I can stay upto date with my messages whilst keeping my phone on silent. Owl | |||
