I dunno, maybe it's a New Years resolution thing but cycling home last night along queens drive (those who know it will know how heavy it's used by vehicles), the traffic moves pretty slow, but every vehicle in front of me moved away from the kerb to let me pass, I was very thankful, giving a polite wave as I passed each one.

I certainly made a change from what I was used to. Hats off to those drivers showing respect for all road users

Suffolk - East Anglia

The rise in cycling popularity has certainly raised most drivers' awareness of cyclists. Shame your experience is not shared by many others.

I'm lucky inasmuch that most of my cycling is on country roads and almost all drivers give plenty of space.

On the 14 miles I do to work, there is just one road that has a cycle lane on it, which I do use, but yeah, I take your point, cyclists on the road when there's a cycle lane next to it
