I dunno... I had my last tattoo done by Luke Wessman (ladies you should google if you like a hot rough diamond) and he said the best thing was just to keep using a decent moisturiser. He put cling film on it when I left the shop but advised air and moisturiser the day after and so that's what I did. Worked well for me.

I've heard Preparation H is supposed to be good. I use Savlon and have on all mine, use it to heal my piercings too.

10 tattoos later (one of which a half sleeve) and I still recommend Bepanthen.

Every artist I've been to recommended it

I tend not to use anything until it gets itchy and then I use aqueous cream.

I was told not to use moisturiser as it pushes moisture into the tattoo which pushed the ink out. Bepanthen is a barrier cream which protects the open wound as it heals then moisturise when it starts to heal over.

Bucket of Bepanthem it is then. In the next 3 months, I have a full sleeve, chest piece, back piece and a large portrait on my other arm booked

I just use bepantheb for a few days after.

Tried just regular nappy rash cream since the shop didn't have bepanthen and it's rubbish.

Had mine done Friday and stopped using the cream today.

Spot on! But I run cling film for a couple of days cleaning with soapy warm water every 4 hours and New cling film, until the plasma has stopped then Bepanthen.

Had a half and full sleeve plus others

I am covered in tattoos sleeves done, lower leg sleeve, full back piece to mention a few, i have found the best results i have had was get your artist to wrap it in cling film. Leave this on for a few hours. wash the tatt with non perfumed soap and use a very light coating of Bepanthen and wrap with cling film again, i repeat this a few time a day for 3 days and i find minimal scabbing and pealing and it heals must faster than just applying cream

yeah i've used cling film for large areas. the skin heals a lot better and doesn't crack or scab at all.

i don't use creams with cling film, it's not really needed imo. but keeping it clean is important, it can get sweaty under the film.

Hmmm... maybe it wasn't moisturiser... the washing it regularly thing rings a bell. I could well be talking through a hole in my arse.

Does anyone have any advice with regards to inked nipples? My next one will involve completely colouring a nipple (I think it will look too odd otherwise).

Same sort of process?

Bepanthen ointment is the best choice by far. Keep a good layer of it on for at least a week longer if you can keep it up. It shouldn't really scab or crack as people say if starts to scab it means you aren't applying it regularly enough. You end up with a better finish.
