"Exceptionally brave of her to do that; I hope it has the desired effect to raise awareness about this; And help those who go through this; This happened to a friend of mine many years ago; the sum total of help she got was the medical staff saying " don't worry, love, you can always have another one" Before they sent her home. " That sounds about right

"Ive just been reading an article in the local news where the guy who plays Steve was saying that he and his wife had also lost 11 babies, one at 21 weeks. Must have been a very difficult for him as well" I think sadly the default response is that it s the mother who needs the support and that the father forms part of that support. I paid a very heavy price for being the string one This story line is such a good thing and all involved should be applauded, if it gets people talking even if that talking is as minimal as on this thread that is still a hufe positive. And if it helps 1 person on the future cope better then that is a pretty fucking awesome legacy to have been inspired by such tragedy

I've lost all but one of my 8 pregnancies and my one premature son didn't survive long. None of my relationships could survive the pain of those losses. It was much harder to get people to talk about miscarriage and premature deaths back then, let alone understand how devastating it is for the father as well as the mother.

"Look at the Miscarriage Association and SANDS (Stillbirth And Neonatal Death Society) and Bliss. There's help through the fora and support networks even if your loss was some time ago. " Thanku xx
