Certainly is! I find preparing veg myself is too differcult with my crappy hand/arms so the extra pennies it costs is well worth it.

Got a good tip last nite off a Facebook friend. I struggle opening jars so I put a rant on there n she said put a spoon under the lid n release the air. It worked a treat so I was a happy PTU last night. I can get in them dam Pickled onions now. xxx

Right. Weighed myself on my not very reliable scales, and I'm 14st 13lb. Put on about 4lb over Christmas, which is less than I thought I would.

I'm going to try to find some more reliable scales to use regularly and use an item of clothing, that doesn't stretch, as a benchmark.

Started yesterday with a high protein meal of chicken, chick peas, haricot beans, poached egg and salad of lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, celery, cress, radishes and red peppers. Tonight will be a brown pasta Bolognese, made from scratch with lean beef.

I'm slowly cutting down the tea. Very slowly

Do you eat your exercise calories?

I use an app (myfitnesspal) in which you state your target and it sets your daily calorie limit.

However, if you exercise it adds the burned calories to the daily available.

In theory you should still lose, but without feeling so much hunger pain.

Obviously if you don't eat the exercise calories you can lose faster. What's the group-think on this?

Crikey, I popped off for a bit of nookie and you're all on( medicinal weight loss nookie, may I add ) anyhow, I'm on day 3 and hating every minute but I'm doing it, so I'm proud, I've picked out my tightest items of clothing to go by, I don't do scales And my way of stopping me from giving in is to swap my comfy bra for a bra I love that's too tight and wear it for an hour, I hate it being too tight but love the bra, I will get back into it Mrs blue eyes

There's 2 part 2's!

Anyway write so my journal has gone the forum I made was shut down for nudity and sexual content so gonna have to record everything here.

Starting stats as of Monday morning.

Was a 5'3 soft squishy lump weighing 11stone 11, that's horrendous for my height. I weighed today though nude on the same scales and I'm 11stone 6 so I've lost 5lb since Monday.

I'm having 2 poops a day though because I'm taking psyllium husk capsules and bentonite clay (which is a detox aid, draws all the toxins out of your body and you just poop them out)

Also given up smoking Monday though in using a vape so dunno if that counts?

my exercise consists of a brisk walk around my (what I laughingly call a) town...there are a couple of steep hills so I get a good workout even if I only walk for 30 mins..

then there is the housework..

and if I'm feeling extra energetic I just run up and down the stairs a few times ..

We'll have to do a hell of a lot of posting before we get near the BBW total - we can just open new threads as they get full!

How about a Tip of the day (not Viz style)?

My worst time for eating what I should not do is evening. Sitting on the sofa watching telly.

I have two solutions, the first is to hold off having dinner until later (and make it something I have to take time to cook also). This uses up time before, and leaves less time after to get hungry.

The other is to actually do something and forget about food for a while. But it's cold and dark and the motivation seeps away...

"...Try not to eat after 7pm"

There seems to be mixed messages on that one, with no conclusive evidence either way.

I think it's probably more relevant what you eat, than when. But willing to be proved wrong.

I don't want to lose weight fast. I want to steadily lose a pound a week and keep it off. I don't get bored with the food I eat, or crave anything, because I make tasty food and have treats now and then. I don't go on diets, I shop and cook healthier.

Snack on something low calorie. Include snacks in your calorie intake and adjust your meals. I prefer to eat little and often.

Just got them off eBay. I bought calcium bentonite clay cos that one was talked about more when used to injest it. I really feel like I have more energy since I've been taking it, but dunno if it's down to the healthy eating or the not smoking fags but I'm being regular twice a day with that and the psyllium husk. I find the "no eating after 7 or 8 pm" rule impossible when working shifts. Sometimes I'm just starting my shift at that time, am I supposed to starve myself all night? And then eat whilst sleeping?

Absolutes rarely work

Daily roundup

4.something mile run -600 calories(ish)

Granola, milk, fruit juice +450 cals

Mocha and mini cheddars! +250 cals

Beany veg stew (no pots, but did do dumplings!) +650 cals

Peanuts +100 cals

That falls below my target intake without the exercise calories (I'm 6'2" and 15st, I need a fair few calories just to keep all that moving!)

the best way to ensure the content of what you are eating is healthy is to cook it yourself..

it takes 30 mins max to make a bowl of homemade veg soup that tastes every bit as good, if not better than what you buy in the shops

1gram of salt. 18 grams of protein, 274 calories, 32 carbs, 6 grams of sugar which would be fructose sugar from the split peas, lentils, pumpkin, carrots, lentils, celery, leek and pulses.

I wouldn't recommend anything to people looking to lose weight if I hadn't read every ingredient myself and given it the ok.

But yes people need to be mindful of ready meals, I wouldn't class this high protein soup as a ready meal though.

Ok I'm starting today!

Shitty tummy ache and blood bath subsiding now!

Will take a picture in a minute!

Weight this morning exactly 11st 9lb!

Ideally I'd like to lose a stone in the next 12 weeks - but - and guessing many women on here will get what I'm saying - I'm gonna go by my body shape/boobs as I don't want a great body everywhere else but shitty spaniels ears tits!

So I'll be emphasising toning when I've got down to around 11st and see what happens!

Won't be following a specific diet as want to eat with the kids where possible - so I'll just be cooking generally healthy meals for all of us but having slightly smaller portions to shrink my tummy gradually!

Best of look sticking to it over the weekend everyone!

I can get in them dam Pickled onions now. xxx"

If you can't remove a lid banging the jar firmly on the worktop usually works too, no idea how, but it does so who cares about the physics!!

"the best way to ensure the content of what you are eating is healthy is to cook it yourself..

it takes 30 mins max to make a bowl of homemade veg soup that tastes every bit as good, if not better than what you buy in the shops "

You can buy pre cut veg for soup, if you don't have time or can't cut a lot of veg up. I struggle with swede, so I leave it out.

Well it's Friday so I thought I would do a weigh in...

So far since Monday I have lost 12 lbs which is v good..

But tbh I have been struggling with the fasting although I am still not exceeding 800 cals a day, so if my tummy starts to rumble about mid morning I have a half portion of almonds just to take the edge off and then an apple and another half portion when I feel my energy dipping mid afternoon ..

So still no breakfast or lunch but I do pig out on my main meal

Exercise wise I have been doing circuits around town first thing in the mornings

I have noticed that I am sleeping better too and now go to bed when I'm tired rather than when I think I should

Oh and btw today I am comfortably wearing the size 12 jeans that were very tight on me last Friday

Thanks Hun! Tbh I'll never have a flat, toned stomach - two large babies in my mid thirties mean I have quite a bit of loose skin there - and the more weight I lose/more I tone the more obvious it looks! Hence I'll be doing a 'balancing act' when I get half a stone or so off - and stopping when I look/feel at my best overall!

I have the same issue with 'spaniels ears' if I lose a lot of weight too! Xx

It's because you are a woman. Women are supposed to look like women, it's nature!

However, I understand the perception looking out is always different to that looking in.

But to my eyes looking like a woman is preferable to looking like a girl.

Done well until this afternoon, went to the carvery with my sister, had a beef dinner with two roast potatoes and a Yorkshire pudding and gravy, piled most my plate with carrots and peas but that's the worst I've eaten since Sunday. I've also not had a cigarette since Tuesday morning so I'm really proud of myself for that.

Weighed yesterday and I'm 9lb down from the Monday we started so 9lb in 10 days is not bad. Most of that is probably water weight as I've not noticed any physical difference yet. Think another stone would have to come off before I notice and visible changes!

Everyone ready for a healthy weekend? I'm keeping Sunday for my relaxed day and gonna have a cooked dinner with sweet potato instead of normal potato, probably will be hanging!

Still having a stinker of a year and stresses (court cases and custody issues with me ex) but I'm not letting him be the reason I smoke or be fat, I ate a lot if crap and comfort food purely cos I was so sad and bad food made me happy. I need my vape to take the edge off and stop me wanting to smoke, I'm also moving this month but my new house isn't ready and have to put all my stuff in storage and me and my daughter will stay with my mum but I can see light at the end of the tunnel. P'eed off after having a shit second week and nearly undoing all the 5lb loss I got in my first week. Today was a fresh start though.

My issue is weekends as I've got so many birthday celebrations, nights out, parties etc coming up pretty much each weekend for the next month or so and I'm undoing all my hard work when I go on a night out as I enjoy a good drink like most of us do which then leads to d*unken/hungover foolish food choices. I'd still like to be able to enjoy a few drinks on a night out though. Does anyone know the best low calorie alcoholic drinks to go for?

Gin and skinny tonic isn't too bad.

Can't stand tonic water! I do tend to go for vodka & diet lemonade, just wasn't sure if there was any other good options. Supposed to be going on a date on Wednesday for cocktails, which will be like a minefield!

been away from the site for a week and a half as 3000 word essays don't write themselves, unfortunately!

in my absence I have managed to lose a stone, although after the second week I upped my calorie intake to 1200 per day..

dry January is almost at an end but as I haven't missed alcohol at all I will probably carry on for as long as I can..

and now my yoga pants fit me again, I have started doing a half hour session every morning

I've had a bad two weeks. I had fish and chips twice last week when I was moving and packing all my stuff up, I had I foam last Friday night with my mum as my moving in meal, McDonald's Saturday as I was cleaning my old house before I gave keys back but I weighed Thursday and I'm still 11'2 so hadn't put on a lb.

I didn't factor in moving when I decided to do this plus I'm a month of not smoking and that's having an effect on my eating. I'm living out of cases at my mums at the moment till my new place is ready and it's pretty stressful, when I'm stressed I wanna eat!

"Do you eat your exercise calories?

I use an app (myfitnesspal) in which you state your target and it sets your daily calorie limit.

However, if you exercise it adds the burned calories to the daily available.

In theory you should still lose, but without feeling so much hunger pain.

Obviously if you don't eat the exercise calories you can lose faster. What's the group-think on this?"

Just be a bit careful, MFP tends to overestimate calorie burns. If you excercise at regular intervals, just find the intake you need to lose 1lb/week without counting your excercise calories and eat that.

The only thing I've been successful in is keeping off the fags. Quitting smoking and having to live with my mum since the end of January has taken it's toll. My daughter and I eat out almost everyday to avoid being in the house. I'm a bit stressed as I'm trying to decorate my house so my eating has taken a back foot! Once I'm settled in my new place I can get some routine going again. Underestimated how stressful living with my mum would be!
