Hi guys

I'm on the lookout for a new laptop, can anyone advise me who is the cheapest in this area..

Normally I'd just go to pcworld but I don't trust these bargain buys as they just pump up the prices to knock down a month later

Thank you

Harry..

We've bought a couple from Argos EBay outlet in the past. They are fully guaranteed with 12 month warranty and a damn sight cheaper than PC World.

I'm using the one I bought from there about three years ago and it's still going strong.

Im making the switch to a Chromebook after 15 plus years as a Windows user

Consider what you do on your laptop. Usually those after a cheap one just use it for the basics which a Chromebook will have you covered on. Plus most of them now have android app support

£250 for a decent one with a full HD screen or you can get standard Chromebooks for as little as £100

Invest in a Raspberry Pi - £30. You'll need to buy a screen of some sort.

pawn brokers can be good. they do sell 2nd hand ones but also sell new ones as well that are not the latest model.

i've never spent more than £200 on a new laptop from one of these shops.

I really need windows as I have some expensive specialist software that I use for work, which unfortunately has a dongle, so restricts me..

Was looking at around £350+VAT, just need decent Ram..

Never thought of Argos or a pawn shop, though can't be bothered shopping by foot..

Fair enough

In that case I'd check out the lenovo 510 on the Curry's website. I was considering it before the chrome switch. It's got a 6th gen i3 CPU that's as good as the i5 equivalent, ssd drive, full HD 14" screen andv4 gigs or ram you can easily upgrade yourself if you wanted. It's £350 bang on budget

Widnes

I have used Pixmania in the past. They are the outlet arm of the Dixons group and have somme good deals, not always, but browse at the right time when certain models are being refreshed and you can bag a bargain.

I'm looking for a new laptop too - so I'm googling the models that have the specifications I need - then Googling the model and see where it's cheapest.

Sorted x
