"Don't give up. I find the turbo trainer a difficult thing to focus on and would much rather be out on my bike. What sort of bike do you have? I would suggest getting a a gear your happy with how it feels on the road. Mimic that amount of resistance and then just go for it. Have you got music or TV or something to distract you as you cycle. One of the horniest things I have seen since being on FAB was a women camming whilst riding her bike on her turbo trainer. She was only wearing bib shorts too. " I faffed on with my gears to get it right. Was watching TV but all I could think about was how hot and sweaty I was! I've a specialized - she's very purty

"Like running machines and those ski training things- they seem to have fuck all resemblence to the real world" I don't find much difference between treadmill and road running as I have the treadmill set at an incline to mimic being outdoors But the difference between a bike and turbo trainer is insane!!

"The evil thing about turbo trainers is that theres no wind rush to cool you down. An hour on a turbo trainer is a killer, worse than 3 or 4 hours on the road in my opinion. Get a cycle computer with cadence though, you can use that on a turbo trainer to aid motivation. " I've been looking at a cycle computer for cadence. Maybe I need to invest in a fan

"I used to use a heart rate monitor and use interval training to mix up the effort. Sprints, followed by high resistance 'climb', rest......repeat. Have a look for cycling videos that instruct you on resistances as you spin. I found the key was managing the boredom. Something I had trouble with on the trainer or on the road. " The road I find it easier, once I have my set route I then start to beat how long it took to climb a hill, how fast I descended, or top speed on a sprint, finally how long I took to do the full ride.

Yeah there is something about being outdoors. It distracts the mind

"I'm on a mission to get back up to a max day of 125 miles. I have a large charity ride to plan and ultimately, do. I'm not fussed how long it takes, more that I get the mileage." Wow that's amazing! 125 miles a day!!

Wow that's amazing! 125 miles a day!! " Not every day, that's usually one day at the weekend. Weekday mileages were around 30-50. I was taking part in a 400 mile, 4 day tour. The next one is a smidge longer at 1000-1200 miles.
