Just on the subject of Coventry.

Does anyone know the truth behind the story of Churchill allegedly sacrificing Coventry to protect Enigma?

I used to travel quite a lot in my job and have had some great times in most of the places named in this thread.

I suppose a lot depends on the type of person you are.

I spent the first 38yrs of my life in the black country before moving to Cornwall. Dudley's not so bad, there's some great pubs and what about the rock clubs, JB's and The Robin?

Had some great times in Hull too. There's a great Irish pub called Durty Nelly's, even took Kate there once too. The towns ok now it's been tidied up.

London

We travel around Britain a lot so..

Hunstanton and Cromer... Ok for the kids in the summer.. But ..

Bradford .. Couldn't find anywhere to eat! So ended up in costa surfing for a meet from Fab

brimingham.. So awful the next time we decided to go we kept going up the M6 to Manchester

Liverpool One.. Oh dear how to drain the soul out of a city centre

Sunderland.. We judge a town by the number of wilkinsons and connexions... This one takes the piss

Worcester.. Exactly where do you people go to eat?

Sheffield. We also hodge it by the number of greggs.. Having four in the same street with two opposite each other takes the piss.

Milton Keynes.. Even the waitrose is shit

In fact there are only two places we like to go and we are shutting up about them..

in the night garden

Barnsley was rough, a desolate windswept post apocalypse landscape.

Seaham has unearthly baron beaches and uninhabitable atmospheric conditions. (Ridley Scott used a Seaham beach for parts of Alien 3 as it looked like another planet)

I once drove through Barrow in Furness but kept my foot firmly on the accelerator.
