What about the thousands of Plymouth fans heading to Anfield for a 1330 kick off today or the Fulham fans heading to Cardiff for 1130?

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

"Good humoured travelling fans make any game a much better occasion ....... "

Is that when they sing their hilariously pointed anthem "we support our local team"?

I agree that humour makes all the difference, it's just so infrequently used...

Yes Newcastle Leeds Derby Wednesday have great away support but as a leeds fan I must say that Villa were the loudest away fans I have heard this year.

I'm glad my travelling support days happened before Stadium atmosphere lost much of it's intensity with the introduction of all seated areas......

Some if the best times I've had at the football was going to the away games with Glasgow Rangers. Followed them all over Europe as well. Remember being part of over 12000 bears at Bayern Munich's old ground. Oktober fest was on at the same time...

Happy happy days..

You didn't bring many to Wolves a few weeks ago. Which ain't exactly far from Derby.

I used to have an away season ticket for my club, didn't miss a game for years. Been to most grounds in the top two divisions.

I rarely go at all now though. Got fed up being treated like shit by the northern constabulary , they have a completely different mindset up there than your London bobby. GMP or midlands are by far the worst.

derby to west brom is only about forty miles isn't it if you want to see good away support look no further than the north east sides who watch shite at home then travel in their thousands to watch shite away in places so far south they have a different time zone

Also supporting Norwich or Ipswich must be tough. Everywhere is miles from there.

I loved away games although i also love home games too. We uaed to go to most away games aswell as all home games. I have been to an away game this season but i doubt i will go to many now because i cant stand up for long due to pain and 90% of away fans stand up all the time plus they crowd lots of (mostly) male fans into a small area so its very crowded. Its a shame
