Beard Rant! (and "sheep")

This ongoing fad where the "male human sheep" grow beards is driving me mad. Some nice fellas who ruin it by growing masses of hair on their faces. Just be yourself - you don't HAVE to follow trends you know!

Rant over - apologies to the beard lovers - nothing worse in my humble opinion - and the crazy thing is, when certain "celebrities" decide to go clean shaven - watch them all do the same. And suddenly, all the "female sheep" will be saying "it's the best look ever".

The "human sheep" syndrome is really driving me mad amongst all else this year - what has happened to "individuals"? Are they putting something in the water to make everyone into a clone - seriously!! - debate please.....

Finally, someone who shares one of my personal bugbears! I was beginning to think it was just me who had these thoughts.

I know it's pretty much impossible to totally escape the zeitgeist and the latest fashions and all that, but it does do my head in slightly how people get so drawn into the latest fads. Like when David Beckham gets a new haircut and six months later 75% of all men under 35 have the same haircut. What is that about?! I guess it's because I've never been one to really follow the latest crazes. I just don't get it

Spot on - are you Aquarian, Libra or Gemini by ant chance? Tend to find air signs much more comfortable being the best example of themselves they can be - rather than a pale imitation of someone else. My husband says we are moving to a desert island because he is so fed up of the shallow world we currently live in. All a bit deep I know but he is sick of facebook, twitter (and he's not on them - just drives him mad that the whole world seems to be), the lack of social interaction etc.

I'm actually a Capricorn! I had a very solitary upbringing. I spent a lot of time on my own, doing my own thing, observing others (still do). I've always been very much on the outside of whatever's happening around me, so I've just never felt the need to conform. I've always just done my own thing, followed my own compass.

Ps. I'll quite happily join you on that desert island.

Knowing my luck you'd probably both end up with beards due to a lack of razor blades! (P.S. bang goes my long held theory about air signs - lol )

I've always had stubble as I just think it suits me, However I wouldn't grow a beard regardless of how trendy it might be as I think I would look a twat. Each to their own though.

It's like the pencilled in eyebrow phase. But then there's always been fads of different fashions.

I like a well trimmed beard though.

I started it all sorry! Thing is I'm ugly as sin and the paper bag kept disintegrating in the rain so beard it was. Even when I was born no one said I was cute

When I was younger I always wanted a beard and long hair. Now im 25 i have the beard but i have gone bald... suppose I got half way there never been a follower of crazes and trends. My two mohawks used to say that. What was i thinking haha

When i was a baby I won 1st prize in a beautiful baby competition.....the prize was a turkey! xxx

I hate trends...they always seem to catch up with something I have been doing for longer than most of these sheeple have been alive...funky coloured hair n tattoos being one of those...I quite like some men with beards but have seen alot of girls dragging guys around...obviously their bf but someone they wouldn't have looked twice at if they weren't beardy n hipster looking...is stupid...hate the 'fuck with your eyebrows' thing too tbh....too many people looking the same... is not good!

I'm with you OP..

I have stated before on various threads that beards remind me of certain serial killers

I also reckon that the only people who should sport a beard are men who have a weak chin, and men over 60...

not boys who are just 18 who are trying their hardest to look grown up....
