I had a chat once with a black man from the deep south who had moved to NYC and he said he felt more uncomfortable in NYC because at least in the south he knew who was racist and who wasn't. Mind, there are some scary ones in the UK too "I have lived in both countries in black communities as a white person. The dynamic is very, very different. Many places in the USA are no go areas for white women in a relationship with a black man, hence not being able to visit my ex husband's family in Mississippi .... with our children. Luckily we lived in LA, so it was a different and more diverse experience. I enjoy London and LA as diverse communities.
