Good evening fellow fabsters and a happy new year to you all.

I'm due an update from my present galaxy s5.

I'm thinking of moving up to the s7 (but not the Edge, don't like em). Any pro's and cons I should know about? I hate not having access to the battery, but got no choice now I'm leaving my s5.

Thanks guys.

I love the S7. I think the battery life is fantastic. I only charge it whilst I'm awake and can keep an eye it so as not to over charge it.

The camera is good, the layout it good. It's a pretty decent size.

We moved to Samsung s7 from the iPhone and much prefer it.

Do you mean upgrade? Only the last update i had from samsung wrecked the settings and battery life of my s6.

After more than 10 years with HTC both moved to S7 and never looked back. It's a brilliant device, far better than our son's IPhone 6s

I went from s5 to s7. No major difference. Battery is still shit.

I moved from a Nokia 925 Windows phone to the S7 and can safely say the S7 is easily the best mobile i've ever had.

The battery life is excellent, 50 hrs from a full charge, with default power saving. As with most phones battery life improves if you are careful to fully charge and run the battery down over the first 4 or 5 charges. I'm with o2 and reception in any area i have travelled has been excellent and 4G reception has been good as well. Loads of options available to use in camera including A "Pro" mode to give you complete control of exposure. Plus if your a keen photographer like me, there is an option to save your pics as RAW files as well as JPG. These can then be used in Photoshop or Lightroom for lossless editing, unlike JPG's.

Don't forget the S8 will be on its way soon. Samsung typically announce in March and start shipping in April, but looks like they might be bringing that forward to February.

May be worth waiting for that to be announced if you are in a position to delay a while.

Not really looked into the current rumours for the S8 but would expect it to be at least as good enough to knock a bit off the price of the S7.

Thanks you lot! Yes I meant upgrade not update!

Well, looks like it's the s7 for me then. Heard it's got 32 gig as well, as opposed to the 16 gig on this phone!

Lovely. Thanks.

Brilliant phones just get a very good case. Mine fell from my pocket maybe a dlfew inches to the flore and smashed. It looked like it had been droped from the top of a high rise
