I'm going to watch it on +1.

I wonder how they are going to make this work? If a date doesn't go well will they still have to see the people in the hotel lobby? Or, are they doing it to allow multiple dates?

I know they have to pay for their own meals at the restaurant. I think travel from outside of London is covered but I can't check that just now.

I much prefer the program before (Undateables). It's rather heartwarming, and doesn't have the show-off edge to it that First Dates has.

it's free for the daters: Channel 4 covers all the costs, from the flights to the meal, even doling out a daily allowance.

If you're tempted to book a romantic weekend away there yourself, it'll set you back between 115 and 300-plus euros, depending on the time of year. The hotel is closed at the moment, but opens its doors in early February when the best available rate is 122 euros (about £100) or 168 euros with breakfast.

In early July, the best rate is currently 304 euros (around £250).

I like the idea of having more time to get to know the person but I haven't understood how they keep them separate if they have decided not to continue the date the next day.

I read an article that said the contestants (for want of a better word) are given a twenty five quid allowance and that the menu is a fixed price, so when you see one of them paying the entire bill it's only really costing them a pony.
