Off the grid

Yes I know some people disappear in mysterious circumstances.

But if it happened as often as on the forums. One minute there's a work colleague next to your desk, next minute they are gone with the letters UNLOS hanging faintly in the air...

SW London

I married someone who went unlos for days... no weeks. We would take the washing with him though, that was the worst thing, especially as we had young kids, 'just off to the Laundromat hun' .....

It would be fairly odd having them back but unable to communicate with you for the first seven days of their return -- or more so be unable to speak out loud in public to you, but have to resort to communicating through the passing of notes (PM) until they've earned the right to a public voice ...

"

And they would lose all their verifications....and have to make new friends too!

I got a new job years ago, to be told my predecessor had popped out to the shop for cigs one day and never came back.

After a couple of months I saw why...

"I wish I could block people in real life.

You can!

You just distance yourself completely, I has various toxic people in my life both work and personal and in the last few years they are UNLOS in my life.

Dunno about going unlos, but I used to spend a fair amount of time on the naughty step when I was at school

There have been days when I've wanted to go unlos, but I opted to hide my profile for a couple of hours, ie, hide under the duvet until the bullshit stops, I've put a self imposed 48 hour ban on myself before now too.

Life eh, it costs more than a fiver for gold member status

Did it on Facebook once. Got a call within the hour asking what was wrong.
