Men are human and so naturally have emotions. I'd find it sadder if someone was emotionally cold. Not that I know the film.

Never been kissed is a great film to cry at.

I admit to it being one of the ones that always gets me going.

It's hilarious and thought provoking at the same time.

The love is just ....well, beautiful.

I tend not to get emotional either. I always thought that being an adult was learning to control your emotions, so that you can choose when it is appropriate to share them with others.

And part of being an adult is also learning when not to be an arse?

I'm clearly not an adult then, because I often cry. Whether it's through joy, relief or a sense of the plight of another person.

But hey, I still play with balloon animals and face paint, so it must be true.

I don't think it's necessarily inappropriate to cry on occasion but I'm definitely considered socially weird for not bursting into tears at sad films and weddings even though I'm female

I get emotional and cry at the wrong things - I've bawled over an episode of The Simpsons and I've cried when a friend gave me a present. I think it's because I keep it all in and I suddenly explode.

Only explode in private though - I'm not a public cryer. I look ridiculous when I cry - cross between a car coughing up a hair ball and having leg cramps

I live alone so can get away with it .

If I'm in company I nip to the loo and take deep breaths before returning ..

That's what I mean. I have certainly cried, but with anything emotional, I try to consider other people before I inflict my emotions upon them. Just because I'm having a shit day, it doesn't mean that I should bring someone else down too.

Ah I see generally don't even want to cry, it's not that I'm stopping myself on anyone else's behalf. Especially when it comes to happy things - why the fuck would I cry at something I'm happy about

Patch Adams was a killer for me. The bit where Robin Williams was talking to his dead wife. Gone completely.

Also the memorial shrouds display that was in Exeter to commemorate the battle of the Somme affected me a lot more than I thought it would.

Well, we have never seen that particular film so can't answer that one.

My OH has cried at The Notebook, Forrest Gump and The Orphange, and he's not afraid to admit it!

I think being unashamed to cry shows great strength and confidence, and that you're not cold inside!

Me too. I very rarely cry (trump's victory being an exception) and I'm often told I seem cold. But I'm not and it's quite a judgement to make, really.

I do cry sometimes, if I'm particularly frustrated or angry. But only alone - and I wouldn't dream of calling a man weak for crying but plenty of people are happy to call a woman cold for not crying.

To be considerate to other people.

The only times I ever saw my mum cry was when she was extremely proud (which happened once) and when my nan died. I have never seen my dad cry.

I don't have a problem or an issue with those that don't cry, same as I don't with those that do. There are times when I think 'get a grip' if it seems excessive or if it's over something petty. But what's petty to one person could mean everything to another and I respect that.

My kid sees me cry at films or the pride of Britain awards regularly and it's a bit of a joke in our house, but when it comes to 'being strong' I can be when necessary. In my own house, in front of the goggle box I don't need to be.

Nb: these times are more likely to happen when I'm due on, tired, hungry etc lol

I have seen men cry. Am not talking about wailing the house down; just a tear

My brother cried when we lost our mother. I have never seen him cry before or after

I don't know why but knowing that a man can cry makes him somehow seem more human and nicer

Don't know if this makes sense to anyone else but it does to me

We are all different, though
