Drop barred for a more efficient ride on the road but with wider wheels/knobbly tyres & a wider gear spread for off road use. MTB' are great off road (I own two full sussers) but horrible on tarmac. If I we're in your position I'd seriously consider one of the new gravel/adventure bikes. Similar to a cyclocross bike but a less racy position." yeah I,ve considered those cylcocross bikes with dropped handlebars, not sure I,d get on with them and question suitability if country track gets a bit tough... | |||
