You can't top that one!

Also instantly recognisable theme tunes, which I love to hear are Bond, Superman, The God Father and Jaws.

The theme tune I adore is The Big Country

Not particularly a theme tune as such, but, Oh Yeah by Yello in Ferris Bueller's Day Off was pretty damned cool as well.

Then you are thinking about Stuck In The Middle With You.......

Manchester

Early John Carpenter (Halloween, Assault On Precinct 13, Escape From New York, The Thing).

The main themes for all of those films are fantastic.

"Quentin Tarrantino has good music for most of his films.

"

Are we talking about film directors here, or musicians who actually write the score for the movie?

Well he tends to pick records that he likes, for the soundtrack etc. So i might have swung off tangent a bit.

"Pretty much everything by Hans-Zimmer... "

Agree, I'd also add anything made by Ludovico Einaudi (una mattina, untouchable theme) or Gustavo Santaoalla (making a murder theme). Their musuc are just magic.
