Is there anyone else on here who can't stand his music?

Yes, I'm sorry he died.

But seems everyone adored his music and I just don't get it.....

I was never a big fan. A couple of catchy singles at most.

Someone yesterday described him as a musical genius, I can't agree with them.

It's sad for his family and friends he was young and his death was sudden and unexpected.

I'm not disagreeing with you but I don't think his death was that unexpected.

When it was announced i was only surprised it wasn't in a car wreck.

He struggled with drugs and suffered with poor health for a couple of years now.

Sad yes, shocked no.

Different horses for different courses.

Personally speaking, he was the background music to my youth.

I loved his music and I also related to him (2nd generation immigrant parent). Yep, I even wore a suit and espadrilles. And boy sid I snog a lot of girls to careless whispers....

Fair enough. He was not everyone's cuppa tea and I took a lot of stick for being a male "whamette", but that didnt deter me.

I hope he rests in peace and thank him for all the good times.

If you dont like his music. Fair enough, all the hype will be over soon, apart from Christmas, when you WILL BE FORCED to hear Las Christmas again

I wasn't a Wham fan but enjoyed his music when he went solo.

So I disagree OP but musical taste differs in us all doesn't it.

I quite like cheesy songs so wake me up before you go go or whatever it was called was okay, but in the main I would have said his music was overrated.

And agree it's very sad to die at a relatively young age but no real surprise given his lifestyle and past drug addictions.

I felt like that when Amy Winehouse died!

But I do like Wham\George Michael music. He was part of my growing up with my friends in the wham days! And I remember growing up having fun and listening to him at the discos!! I think it's sad, but everybody thinks differently!!
