Dead mouse...

I came home to one. Mangled on the living room floor. When I went into the bedroom there was a puddle of blood in my slipper where presumably said mouse had tried to hide.

I duly disposed of the remains in front of a very proud looking kitty and put my slippers in the washing machine.

I went into the bedroom to put my pjs on and then stepped in cold dead mouse guts IN MY BARE FEET!!

My cat brings them in still alive and lets them go ,so its like the tom and jerry show in my lounge ,I get the mouse and chuck it out the Window ,the cat runs out and brings it back in grrrr

Years ago I had a half siamese serial killer that let poor little maimed traumatised mouse loose in the kitchen.

We had just had a new dishwasher delivered and somehow it got inside and we couldn't get it out

I called the company and was most upset about the mouse that appeared to be in the new machine.... so they sent a new one and plumbed it in for free to apologise

We're all sucked into they're cute symmetrical fluffy faces but they're all mass murderers

Two cats- one of them is a house cat scared of its own shadow and the other kindly leaves her presents on the doorstep. Did have to stop eldest trying to resuscitate a bird.

I had to laugh at my cat the other week (he is a house cat) and a rag doll, I came home and he disappeared for a while and was chattering away to himself as they do, for quite a while, not totally unusual for his breed, but was for far longer than usual, so I went to investigate, only to find him in my bedroom staring at this huge black spider on the bedroom wall and when I walked in, he looked at me with this expression , even I went for a wtf look

This is a common problem DG, experienced by many cat owners the world over.

Thankfully our shared experiences have provided a guaranteed sure fire way of ensuring this will never happen again.

And best of all, it's such an easy fix.

I was once woken up by one of my cats calling for attention in the kitchen. When I turned on the light I saw her sitting proudly next to a dead mouse.

I grabbed a shopping bag and bent over to scoop up the remains.

Whoomp, two black wings appeared!

A bat, not dead!

My little black murderess brings me at least 5 a week in the summer. I'll never forget the four perfectly formed foetuses she left for me once...must have had a pregnant one!

The one thing I wish she would kill is the goddam slugs that magically teleport themselves into my kitchen on a night...she just looks at them and goes MEH...I stood on one of those with bare feet the other night...right fat squishy bastard it was ewwwww {balk}

My old cat used to regularly leave mouse pressies but only ever the face - no not the whole head just the face!! Plus one internal organ I never inspected to see what it was but he clearly didn't like whatever it was!!

My other used to very carefully bring me frogs and present them at my feet. I fecking hate frogs

That's why I could never have a cat. I have a proper phobia of bits of dead animals.

Instead I have a dog who's been known to eat her own poo, throw it up on my living room carpet... and then eat it again.

This was when I worked from home and five minutes before my client was due to turn up. Ever tried to get rid of the combined stench of dog poo and dog vomit in five minutes? It's not easy.

My 16 year old psycho cat used to like to maim the poor mouse sufficiently so that when he toyed with it, tossing it in the air, it wouldn't be able to escape the horrors of been eating alive, head first, tail and all.

Baby birds were his favourite though, the little fucker!

George would bring birds into house and let them go, then chase them..when he could not catch them would wake us to catch it then look indignantly towards us as we ether put it out of it's misery or let it go..

Greebo...aptly named after his namesake!...had a fondness for bats...actually watched him catch one on the wing...he had a pin in his leg from an injury and had arthritis in it so was amazing to watch...he used to team up with neighbours cat, Tigger...they were once seen dragging/pushing a huge rabbit through a cat flap...one on either end

miss my highly functioning sociopaths daily

It's nature though... my cat is an indoor cat... the mouse has come into my house... what else is the cat gonna do?!

If your dog went out and brought home three cats a week then that would make you an irresponsible dog owner for not having your pet under control.

Double standards are indeed alive and well. Such is life I'm afraid.

This makes me grateful that my mum's cat, Lily, doesn't care.

However... my parents go on narrowboat holidays. Lily tends to scare small animals to death, though she did bring a live mouse back to the boat one holiday and my parents couldn't find it again. Our old cat didn't kill any on holiday - that we know of - but he did bring a decaying headless mouse back to the boat once

Not that I have a dog, but surely that would be down to the cat owners to keep their cats off my property...
