I got back into 'Ull three weeks ago, facing being on Dole and signed on, but got work within 5 days down south. But that fell through inside 5 days, though another job turned up within 2 hours and will keep me employed till mid January.

So it's been a mix of a year for me!

Well, doing the agency Temping work means I earn more than working full time for one sole employer. But I'll only do this till a full tine suitable job comes along in 2017.

@OP ... it's been a grim year across the board I think, not that I'm trying to diminish your personal experience. I believe you and hold out a friendly hand of support. But thb, with the spectre of racist nationalism looming over europe in a major way for the first time in ages, I'm a bit antsy myself. It's been a year of poor publuic decisions, and I'd almost like to hold humanity back and make it repeat the year, but I couldn't watch it again. Britain and America have fallen to the demon overlords, and I expect France to follow suite. Once the poor have been exterminated, I expect us sex perverts to be about fifth against the wall, after foreigners, homosexuals, and academics. I expect in 2017 Russia and China will join with the anti-European countries within Europe, including Britain, and turn on the rest of us, imposing an ultra-capitalist, harsh new reality(47 people at a party died in Siberia yesterday from drinking a shampoo that has ethenol and tastes of lemons. This fact is not related to the rest of my rant :p). There will be no nutella, or pastries, but you can have as many trout as you want. The next year is probably a jackboot and maybe an oven. I've no advice, but I like to fuck a lot. I like it. :p

They drink the shampoo because it's just alcohol and lemon flavouring. It's got a whole following, akin to Ireland's love affair with buckfast. Actually, if you've ever had homebrewed lemoncello in Italy, that's basically just 97% proof alcohol with a bunch of lemons in it, but it's real nice, but it gets you fucked very easily. So I guess the shampoo is like a slightly shittier version of that. But enough of this off-topic, fruity diversion, I posted on this thread to peddle fear and angst. More fear, all the time, getting faster and coming at you. :p I'm actually delightful company, I swear

Not meeting

The 1st half of 2016 was amazing!!! My best in 10 years. The 2nd half has been a scary roller coaster.

2017 will probably be reversed - scary then gradually getting better.

Whatever 2017 brings, I hope you all make the most of every day - life really is too short!!
