If I could be half the dad he was, to my children then that will be an achievement in itself...

A brave statement from a brave young man

Am sure his Dad will be with him in spirit at the Olumpics

Heaven? There's a Heaven?

How did that happen?

Don't start.. I was saying something nice about a proud dad dying at a young age, leaving behind a young man the country should be proud of.

I will end it there.

And, had you ended it there, I would have had no reason to comment

you don't need a reason, just the sound of your own ego is enough to get you tap tap tapping.

Ok, can you just ignore anyone that pisses you off, as it is boring for the rest of us plus sounds too personal lately.

There is a time and place for that discussion Mr Voyeur, and even as an atheist I would say it ain't on this thread.

Very sad for Mr Daley's family, so young.

Sad news. A wonderful family deprived of so much.

I'm lucky, I still have my wife who fought this bastard disease, My mother has terminal cancer and it has stolen friends and family from me.

Big thanks to all who strive to beat the bastard disease. Never surrender.

Just seen it on the news. So sad. If you were to google proud devoted and supportive dad there'd be a picture of Tom Daley's dad. Saw a documentary about his run up to the olympics and that bloke lived his life around Tom. How many fellas would go to those lengths for thier kids? Poor lad must be in bits.

And yeah, keep your religious _iews to yourself. I'm an athiest too but have some respect FFS!!

Tom Daly - a young man the nation can be proud of.

Tom Daly's father - a man that sacrificed a hell of a lot to help his son achieve his dream.

Mr Daly (snr) I personally salute you, and god rest your soul. May you rest in peace xx
