Given the huge amounts of mail some people get, there is the possibility that it has gotten lost amongst all their other messages and they may, in fact, be of the view that you haven't replied to them.

Sometimes too, messages can disappear from large, inundated inboxes

Ooo, actually I do this. If you're a site supporter you can read their last message without opening it by clicking on the previous.

I do this. Sometimes i delete it by accident when clearing out my inbox.

Other times it's not an accident.

Sometimes if I want mr k to read a message and respond I will read it then mark it unread so he knows to look at it.
