Nope. We have a dedicated fab phone and only one person from here has ever had our address.

No. People will try and suggest that you're being over cautious etc but that just makes alarm bells ring with me.

"Is there much of a difference between landlines and mobile?"

Anyone in the house can pick up a landline.

If you have a dedicated mobile you can turn it off and put it away.

That doesn't matter really for me however is there a way someone having your mobile number can scam you?

Don't think you're over reacting at all. We wouldn't give out a landline.

No idea but some people would try and scam a paper bag if they got the chance.

They could bombard you with texts and calls though.

It's easy to forget that people you make contact with on the net aren't always who they claim to be

That I'm not really bothered about. I've given my mobile out quite a few times over the last year or so without any problems. But someone did recently suggest I give her my mobile number recently so she could call and for the first time I was reluctant. I had some concerns she was who she said she was and started to wonder what she could do with it...

No! I don't even know why I have a landline... only my mum uses it. I don't even think anyone else has the number.
