What is it with them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never answer the bloody things or it goes straight to answer machine oh but woe betide if you dare to step away from your phone just on the off chance that they make their once in a blue moon phone call

we have the same thing with ours she now wants a blackberry curve because everyone else has one.we top the phone up she never answers it to us and does not reply to messages unless it suits her or she needs more credit

my 14 yr old has a nokia and is happy with it , she pays me £10 a month, she is on sim only contract on mine and its fine, why do some parents give that age group top of the range fones

I have a 13 year old and her phone is permantly attached to her hand has samsung genie I got her at xmas o2 simplicity and she has to earn her top up by doing chores and keeping her room tidy.

Didnt you know children arent allowed luxuries. They should be kept locked under the stairs and fed bread and water

What they want isn't necessarily what they get though. Doesn't stop them wanting what their friends have. It's always been like that and always will be no matter how we try and teach them values

Elkie, I remember as a kid wanting things, but didn't mean I got them.

As some posters have said they get what they are given and work for things.

Thats real life, you work you get.

If not they can become the 'the world owes me a living' class

Well I never had much as a kid and worked from 16 to get what I wanted. Mine will too, no sponging off me and expecting half a mortgage off me when they want a house!

Mine have a set pocket money each month and if they spend it all on the first day they don't come back for more.

Daughter had her HTC as a birthday present so not really over extravagant. Just making the point that we all succumb at some stage

My bed was positioned under the pull light switch. The bulb was removed at 19.00 prompt.

Fecking hard doing A level chemistry homework in the dark i can tell you.

i have a friend who has a daughter and she gets what she wants,her mum does not work at all and is a single parent on benefit as well, i work part time but my daughter does get just becasuse her friend has it, cant understand some parents who just goes out and buys what kids want and if the dont get what they want the have a paddy
