Had a go on a Canon recently - rubbish to use. Sticking with my Sony, which isn't perfect but is a lot more intuitive.

I'm not going up to full frame yet but when I do it will not be a Canon.

No its a crop sensor if you're going to spend that sort of money get a used full frame like a 6d or 5d mk 3

I just recently bought the Nikon D500 and I'm really impressed with it. I did consider a full frame but as I shoot primarily sports I thought the D500 was more suited. Its a massive jump from my D300 which is now my spare.

Op what sort of photographs do you take. Is it for hobby or bigger things?

Do you own or used canon in the past. I ask because as you see above you do have other choices. Don't just jump because it looks like a bargain. In fact never buy new. Look at excellent condition used or mint condition used. I go to shops to look at and get the feel for the item. Then I look for a better price.

For wildlife photos - the crop sensir gives you 60% more lens. I have lots of canon glass so swapping isn't viable.

I have a 5d for my landscape /portrait work and 50d for wildlife/aircraft

The 5d3 is an extra grand. 5d4 an extra 2 grand

The 7d2 is very tempting at that price with all the goodies.

I'd forget the goodies nothing there that you can't get online cheap. Look at Park cameras, camera jungle.

At the end of the day it's your money. I can understand that the crop might help but all you need is a 1.5x teleconverter and save a shed loads of money (I know you will lose some f stop. I've been using this on my 70-200 with good results.) I use. A 50d at work and it's not a bad bit of kit. I own a 60d for when I want a crop sensor. I'd probably look at saving some money and get the 80d as a replacement for the 50d. Trade in and save from the sites I mentioned.

I've got a 1.4x but you lose autoficus on a f5.6 with the 1.4 unless you have a 1d body I believe.

I have little need for HD video. I don't like swivel displays after having had bad experiences in the past

Im wary of grey imports and the possibility of not being supported when I need repairs or servicing
