"The police have guns..and it's the law to give way at cross junctions..first comes, first goes..." Those things have nothing to do with the attitude here. If it were the case, it would be the same everywhere. I am on a short break from a business trip and spending a few days at the southern tip of SW Florida and it is very, very noticeable just how unhurried, polite and easy going the drivers, cyclists and motor cyclists are here. I have not heard a horn sound in five days and the default position seems to be to offer to give way to someone else even if you don't need to. I have never seen this kind of positive driving behaviour anywhere else. | |||

As a nation they really tend to get a bad reputation | |||
