Would it be unfeasible for people to ask or have a party on Christmas day for the ones that spend it alone?

See alot on TV about it for elderly but surely it happens across all ages?

Well hoped for more than a negative response, it was a question more than a statement.

Some people love spending it alone, I do and I'm sure there are people all over the world sharing their Christmas with those that don't.

Plenty of people already do. We've invited my neighbour round as she might not be able to get transport to go to Yorkshire to see her family.

I had similar thoughts when I saw the ad on tv re the elderly being alone.

Lots of people of all ages are alone at Christmas some by choice and sadly some not.

My grown up kids are all many many miles away and I will be working for most of Christmas so although invited to several friends I don't like to intrude again this year so I will alone through choice.

Anyway,Happy Christmas to fellow fabbers who too will be alone.

I will spend Christmas Day at my parents but Christmas night and Boxing Day on my own. I will binge out on junk food and tv probably and I expect I will have a little bit of self pity moment at some point but then I'll open another packet of Pringles and soon get over it

I have always spent Xmas alone , I was born on the lounge floor of my parents pub and joined up at 16 ,, I was carer minded so stayed single to further my career hense I know no different . I choose to stay alone rather than feel an intruder, so I know what you mean

I will be spending the 25th December the same way I do any other Sunday.

Not everyone celebrates Christmas you know.

Nor do I but think us that don't should take the blinkers off to welcome anyone that wants the Sunday company feeling?

A lot of churches provide an xmas day lunch for those that are alone or just want to celebrate with each other. Ask your local.

No I'm at theirs during the day on Christmas Day, but in the evening I will go back to my flat alone. And spend Boxing Day alone. So I half answered your question. I'm alone for part of Christmas Day not all of it. I expect I'll have a sad lonely moment when I'm on my own at some point.

To me it's the only peaceful day of the year I tend to enjoy the peace .
