We have noticed a number of forum regulars have some amazing pics of very arty ropework, and this is something we are considering having a dalliance with.

Are there any good books you would recommend for newbies to start with (though I was head of our Naval CCF & a proper Scout too, so at least I know my grannies from my sheepshanks)

We're considering "Two Knotty Boys Showing You the Ropes"

Cheers

I learnt a few techniques from the Two Knotty Boys videos that are on YouTube!

The others I learnt doing my skippers certificates

I have a semi regular fuck buddy who brings his iPad loaded with the two knotty boys book. He likes tying me up, I love the look of concentration on his face and it usually ends with him improvising the last bit and fucking me good and proper. Although trying to get from a chair to the bed with my ankles hobbled was a tad tricky.

I have that book on my iBooks app, hold on... oh and back on the ropes too.... they are quite good, but I would always recommend the twisted monk for learning some pretty good basic stuff and partly because I have a crush on his assistant "Tammy"

You need steps to reach most things

We enjoy playing with rope and do rope suspensions. The two knotty boys videos are worth watching as you can stop and start them as you practice, just google Shibari and there are some good videos out there, if you join a well know FET site they have lots of peer rope events that are very friendly and good for beginnners.

I do like watching the man who is sometimes there working on his partner. Maybe I should return to AbFab for one last hurrah?

If it's who I'm thinking of they're no longer together. But there's others who do rope work with partners

We tend to like to learn from books + videos, which is nice to do at your own rate, but have to admit that our local rope jam is much more fun - lovely people and helpful, non-judgemental guidance if you ask for it. Couldn't recommend it more highly
