Naughty bananas, I suspect.

Has anyone else ever noticed that the worst fruitfly invasions usually come in the winter?

What else is winter good for?

Central

Small flies can also come from potted plant compost, especially when wet for some time. Stones on the surface can prevent them laying eggs.
