i've just finished my last book, aliens vs predator-Armageddon, the last in the three book rage war series and i feel bloody lost now as i've nowt left to read =(

so in search of inspiration what are you all reading out there in fab land?

i kinda like my sci fi but will happily deviate from that for something else if it catches my interest so come on folks, what's good out there at the moment?

Its the second Temeraire book. I can only describe them as the Napoleonic Wars, WITH DRAGONS!! They're better than they sound.

You might want to look at the Rivers of London series and the Gentleman Bastard series too.

The design of everyday things by Don Norman

The Steve Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson

Need to decide on the next fiction although I might dive back in to The Dark Tower

The book came well before the film - also worth reading Choke by Chuck Palahniuk as well. He's a brilliant writer.

The Accident by CL Taylor, my first by this writer although was recommended to me and has been a great start.

Last one was Eeny Meeny by M L Ardlidge. It was brilliant, and is the start of the Detective Helen Grace series. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of them, very well written and plenty of twists to keep you guessing until the end.

That could be the anti-chromatic dust that's produced during inter-galactic worm hole travel. It's a tricky one to get right. Your pubes should be grey-ish.

I finished Europe in Winter by Dave Hutchinson a few days ago and it was excellent. It's near future sf set after the EU has fallen apart and bird flu has ravaged the population, throw in another reality found by Victorian explorers that starting to bleed back and well it's a great mix.

Currently half way through Skinwalkers which is a Viking type book set in the pathfinder RPG world. It's fun, nothing special but I'm a suckwr for this kind of fantasy...

Should have it finished before Christmas, thinking something sci-fi next.

so in search of inspiration what are you all reading out there in fab land?

i kinda like my sci fi but will happily deviate from that for something else if it catches my interest so come on folks, what's good out there at the moment? "

Some sci-fi recommendations for you here OP:

Vurt by Jeff Noon. Set in an alternate Manchester in the 90s where reality has become somewhat fluid. Very weird, very good!

The Troika by Stepan Chapman. Follows the journey of a jeep, a brontosaurus and an old mexican woman as they travel across an endless desert. The dream sequences are fantastic.

As She Climbed Across the Table by Jonathan Lethem. A love story of sorts between a particle physicist and a literal hole in the universe.

Finally, the MaddAddam trilogy by Margaret Atwood. Dystopian future, post-apocalyptic, darkly comic, this series is brilliant.
