I'm curvy and proud but there's nothing that makes me feel less confident than going shopping for clothes on the high street and particularly lingerie. Apparently if you're over size 14 you only want to wear kidney warmers or granny bra's! There are some exceptions - I really like Asda for bra's but you really have to hunt for 38DD and above (especially if you want the matching knickers). I've recently discovered a few websites and would appreciate your thoughts on whether they're any good, also if you've found any others.

Sparkling Strawberry - Jason read about this one, I think in a forum here and it seems ok. There seems to be a good selection but I'd appreciate thoughts on quality.

What Katy Did - This is vintage lingerie, looks really nice and again it's been recommended but I haven't bought anything yet.

Stockings Direct - does what it says on the tin, this is for stockings and suspender belts. I bought a really nice 6 strap suspender belt from here (helpful in keeping my stockings up) and will definitely buy more. There isn't as big a range of fuller figured stockings (the normal sized ones I found don't come much above my knees!)

The Big Bloomers Company - This is a great website but now I've lost some weight they're actually too big for me! I love their stockings but the're actually too long for me now (annoying lol) They don't have 'sexy' lingerie but definitely somewhere to go for stockings if you're size 20+

Then we have the usual suspects, Ann Summers, Love Honey, Marisota and Simply Bee. I think they're overpriced and rubbish quality usually but would happily be directed to anything you specifically like.

Brastop and Figleaves online are ace. Plus high street wise Bravissimo, Boux Avenue, M&S and Debenhams always have stuff I can try on and some of it's lovely. I used to shop in those when I was a size 20 and a 40F and still use them now. Shops that didn't want my business before I lost weight can do one.

I think the WORST things to buy are corsets.....where I usually wear a large or XL, I had to get XXL or even XXXL---nothing like wearing something 2-3 sizes larger than you usually get to make you feel sexy. !!!!!

I like Bondara, it's the same as Lovehoney with a bit less selection but much cheaper.

Thanks both! Couldn't agree more, if they don't want my business when I'm bigger they won't get it when I lose weight and I have literally cried in changing rooms because I need 2 or 3 sizes bigger than I actually am in some shops - makes me feel completely shit!!

I'll look at your suggestions

Sainsburys are launching a new lingerie range soon that will go up to a g cup. Not big enough for me but will be useful for some ladies on here.

Bra stop, bravissimo, Ann summers and simply be are my usual places. Love honey is touch and go, I tend to fall out the top of the lingerie from there, and I have a good rack but it's not huge so anyone larger boobed I wouldn't bother (although Mr enjoys the view of me falling out I think

)

I buy all my underwear from Marks and Spencers. Im a size 20, 40d/dd and easily find lots of lovely sexy bras and knickers there. A variety of prices and styles including traditional lacy, satiny ones and modern styles too aswell as everyday styles. They wash well. They last well. They are comfortable too.

I have in the past bought from tesco, bhs and evans but prefer M n S. I also tried simply be but the bras gave no suport at all

The only brands that I can think of that haven't been named are Pour Moi and Playful promises - both do beautiful lingerie that avoid the boulder holder trap and they are quite reasonably priced if you're looking for something special. I find it a pain in the arse looking for proper support bras but both of the companies do fantastic ones.

The problem is that a lot of the plus size stuff is larger in the body ( eg a basque) but don't do large cup sizes

My fave bra shop online (bra stop) has just started doing really nice lingerie but for some reason while their bras go up to k cup their lingerie only goes up to HH

I didn't find any of those lacy babydolls would contain my boobage properly, so I just googled underwired ones - and that came up with some nice stuff at random places, like the one in my current avatar.

What Katy Did are ridiculously overpriced I think - Belle have some pretty things.

Try posting on the US group - there are some great shops around NYC. Many may have web sales, and even with dollar prices and shipping, the quality is better. Good destination for a holiday too!

When you're a large cup size sadly not many retailers will cater to your needs. I'm a 36jj and the only place I can find well fitting lingerie is. Bravissimo, shame they only run to matching bra and knickers though, suspender belts are impossible to get

Bra stop do bra knickers and baby dolls up to k cup . Nothing else though unfortunately

How about looking in the catalogues? Fashion world, Simply Be etc. Get bargains in the sales.

Primark to THE best hold ups. They never move and last for ages.

Asda only go to a 38 but do larger cups. Tesco have done a nice range in the past.

Ebay are great, if you know what you are looking for, really cheap too. Most of it comes from China, so all you need to do is buy a few sizes bigger.

I've noticed a lot of ladies commenting here that they have trouble finding decent lingerie to accommodate bigger cup sizes.

My wife has some what of a different problem with being a classic pear shape - large hips, thighs and belly but a relatively small bust - 38B.

She recently bought a chemise from Debenhams that was great around her boobs but too tight everywhere else. So a size up would be too baggy.

Does anyone have any advice regarding this and where to shop?

I have the opposite problem, I am small, so trying to find things to fit is hard in both lingerie and in normal clothes.

And I can tell you now, one size does not fit all, so many items bought were a waste of money as they are far to big

Buy all my undies from debenhams (I'm 38f) love their range plus if you get measured you will get a discount off anything you buy. The lady at my local one is lovely and she told me that when buying black Bras you will normally need to go up a size as the dye shrinks the fabric and to be honest I have to agree with her.

I'm a 36A. Bra makers seem to think if your chest size is that big then your boobs can't possibly be as small as an A cup. It's incredibly depressing.

Great post. I struggle being a 38KK

I use bravissimo even though it's a small fortune! I've eveny managed to get a few lacey baby dolls from yours.

I'm looking for an open bra if anyone can recommend?? Thank you xx
