Apparently we are genetically programmed to either like or dislike sprouts ......

Oh, are they the same genetic markers that make cucumber taste really bitter to some people?

I love sprouts and would eat them all the time if I could. I also find cucumbers not in the least bitter, but they can be a bit hard to accomodate sometimes

When you say you would eat them all the time, does that mean you'd eat them while you are in the bath ....because they float so wouldn't matter if you dropped one .....

I sometimes drop one in the bath but you can always tell when I have because of the bubbles ....

Unless I had something better to put in my mouth, it's going to be a sprout.

Allegedly.

Its the same with whether asparagus makes your wee smell funny.

There could be a case for genetic engineering...

Thank god for that, too much faffing about in my opinion. Just peel a couple of outer leaves off, sling 'em in a pan, bring to the boil and simmer for about 12-15 minutes and the job's a good 'un

I rarely peel outer leaves off either unless they are old. Then boil them for about 5 mins. Yummy

There is something in sprouts that to some people it tastes bitter and not to others. I remember my brother bringing something back from a science lesson at school that when you put it on your tongue some said it tasted bitter and others couldn't taste anything.

Life's too short. Free yourself of the chattels of sprout cutting misery. There's a whole new world out there just waiting for you to explore. What are you waiting for? Go, go!

8 mins, with x marks to help stem cook. Slightly al dente, and taste delicious.

My ex used to boil the living daylights out of any vegetable that she cooked, thus rendering it to more of a pulp that was unrecognisable other than by its colour. She also drained the water down the sink and boiled the kettle to make the gravy

I've never eaten a sprout in my life, revolting things .... but also hate wine. Though I used to beg my mum for a drink of vinegar when I was a kid (weird child) and still love it.
