To have gone to a fancy dress shop yesterday to get something for a girl at work, meet the most helpful hottie without a ring on, go down the street to a florist and send a bouquet back to her with my number on the card ?? She hasn't responded

It's romantic. But she may have a boyfriend so don't take the lack of reply to heart. I'm sure she liked the flowers!

I'm not sure it's weird, but I also don't think it's weird that she hasn't responded. Sounds like she was just doing her job properly in being helpful, not showing interest in you.

Did you write anything else apart from your number on the card? She may not be single anyway.

I hear what you are saying, she was only doing her job, I was only showing interest in her without being pushy I think.

The land of grey peas and bacon

Just because someone hasn't got a ring on doesn't mean they are single....it's a sweet gesture though. I'd be flattered. I remember working for a shop that sold ties and this bloke used to come in every other day to buy a tie, it turned out he only did it to see me anyway he asked me out on a date lol...we were together a while

"I got the florist to write the card and just put on there thanks for the help with the things this morning and added my name and number."

So for her, she had no idea who sent the flowers. It could have been the ugly creepy dude who leered at her before you came in.

It's what they used to do back in the day before online dating, internet, social media, and it wasn't considered weird back then...I think sometimes we lack the old fashioned way of wooing the opposite sex, OP even if she doesn't respond take it on the chin and all that stuff.

I think its sweet, but I wouldn't have done it personally. I think its better to pluck up the courage and just ask for her number. Its so much more personal and I think the girl would appreciate that you braved it and took a chance asking her out.

I don't think it's weird, it's probably just uncommon. Not a bad thing, and worth a try. It's not like you've lost or risked anything by trying!

I think thats sweet.

And if someone sent me flowers like that, even though I'm married I'd at least ring the number on the card (probably from a payphone though just incase) to say thank you.

Its the polite thing to do, in my opinion

I bet you're one of those men who expect a reply when you send a message here. Had she sent you a message, she would have given you her number. Step back and think of her position.

Seems a bit OTT to send flowers to someone who your sole interaction with has been a single visit to the shop they work in.

My reaction, cynic that I am, would have been, "Fook, I've got a stalker."

I would far have preferred someone to talk to me.

It's not at all weird, in fact it's rather sweet, old fashioned romance.

Maybe she's too shy to ring,I hope if you go back and try again she appreciates your persistence.

Why would they want to give you their number by texting you a thank you.

What else did you put on the card to so they knew who it was sending the flower's ??

Whilst sending a £33 bunch of flowers to a pretty girl you know nothing about is romantic & sweet overall its not that smart, I probably would have left it a couple of days & hired something, you can then ask for help (its her job after all) had a chat, done some research & you would have to go back to return it.

So two more chances to find out whether she likes you and is available

If you dont get an answer with the flowers you now don't know why, as said she might think they were from Ace or not think they were from you at least..So now do you take a gulp & go in there anyway?

If you see her again just say you didn't mean to come across as forward or anything but were just interested in maybe having a night out together some time? and that if she is not interested then it's okay.
