"So, I've recently had my work hours increased to 16 + on a zero hour contract, being a lone parent I declared this with the inland revenue via phone and only information I had to give were employment details including hourly rate. Does this mean I'll receive my first tax credits payment before Christmas or likely to be in the new year ? J" It entirely depends! Usually takes 2/3 weeks which means you're perilously close. In the past I've called them after a week as the calculations will be further along by that point and they may be able to give you a more accurate amount and possible payment date | |||
