I have an old stationery box in which I have the hospital ankle tags from my four children, I also have the labels that were on their hospital cots, and a lock of hair, taken from my son who would have been 21 on Friday, shortly before he died.

When my house was burgled I was away on holiday. The first thing I asked my daughter after "are you alright?" was to go and check if my box was in place - it was. The laptops, dvd players, money, jewelry et al were all insured and could be easily replaced. I'd have been devastated if my old battered box was gone.

mine are the photo's of my little one.

when i had my mobile phone stolen i cried not because my phone was nicked but because the memory card had all the photo's and video's of my daughters 1st birthday and Xmas on.. was devistated.

They could have kept the phone but id have paid them to give me the memory card back.

An old box that my grandfather kept his pencils and paints in. He loved to draw/paint.

My Swedish steel axe with an ash haft.

It's hard to find a really reliable and comfortable axe these days. Then you get that special patina that forms on the blade from all the victims it has chopped up over the years - that can never be replaced.
