Owls. Hate hearing them cos something bad always happens the next day. So I'm superstitious when I hear one.

Yep. I do the magpie thing too. Only the other day, my daughter was in the car with me, and we both simultaneously saluted - and burst into laughter,

I do have one (unusual) suspicion - that my dear old Dad passed on to me. If you drop a knife, never pick it up yourself. Some might say he was just a lazy bugger, but I inherited it and now I'm stuck with it. Matters are made worse because I live alone. I once had a knife on my kitchen floor for days!

Another (totally daft) superstition that I have is:

If I put a jumper on back to front, it has to stay that way all day.

I don't have any superstitions. A woman I work with won't pass on the stairs. A fucking pain in the arse when it's busy and we're up and down to the stock room all day

I always salute a lone magpie, but that is about it. Which is surprising given my Nanna could turn any everyday occurrence into a superstition.

Dropped the salt - throw it over your shoulder or bad luck will follow.

Don't walk under a ladder you'll die.

Never let a baby see it's reflection.

She was full of others too.
